Hawanatu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more bags of rice, onions, oil, flour and other items to increase her business.

Hawanatu's story

Meet 53 year old Hawanatu from Masuba branch. She is married with 3 children between the ages of 16 and 19 years old. Three of them are currently attending school.

Hawanatu runs a retail shop business and sells onions, rice, oil, flour, drinks and other items to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past 3 years now and works 12 hours per day and 6 days a week. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes.

Hawanatu requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more bags of rice, onions, oil, flour and other items to increase her business.

She says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family and increase her business.

In the next 5 years she wants to expand to a big shop. She says thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
