Mamusu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more palm oil to increase her business.

Mamusu's story

Meet 34-year-old Mamusu from Masingbi branch. She is married with three children between the ages of 6 and 14 years old. Three of them are currently attending school.

Mamusu runs a palm oil business. Palm oil is red in color and is the cornerstone of Sierra Leonean cuisine. It is used as the base for spicy stews. Good quality oil is said to be high in antioxidants. The oil is usually sold in yellow plastic cans. Borrowers like Mamusu save money when they buy their oil in bulk. She has been in this business for the past six years now and works 12 hours per day and 6 days a week. Her other source of income is from her husband.

Mamusu requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more palm oil to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family.

In the next five years, she wants to expand. She says thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
