A loan helped to buy more grocery items for her tuck-shop.

Chitenderano Group's story

Precious is a 44-year-old lady who is in the tuck-shop business. She operates her tuck-shop in Chitungwiza near a primary school which is advantageous to her as she reaches more customers who include teachers, school children and other residents in the area.

Precious is progressing very well in her business which she has been running for seven years. Apart from owning a tuck-shop, she has also started a canteen business. One cause that endeared her to her clients is that she managed to get a swipe machine from her bank and a merchant code for mobile transactions. This was in response to the cash shortages that Zimbabwe is currently facing. Her business value was $885 at the time of site visit.

Precious is married to a teacher and they are blessed with four children. Previously, she got a loan of $400 which she used effectively to improve her business. Chitenderano group is now left with two members and they are currently on their fourth loan. Gladys is the other remaining group member who is in the poultry and tailoring businesses. Precious used her share of this loan to buy more grocery items for her tuck-shop.
