Village 37 Group's story

Enea is one of the business people who have defied the odds to become a vibrant business lady to reckon with in her community. She is a 53-year-old lady who now has two years specializing in a poultry business. Enea's husband is a pensioner and they are blessed with one child.

Enea usually keeps batches of 100 chicks per month and makes profits of around $150 to $200 per month. She heard about Thrive Microfinance from other women who have benefited from the loans. She then decided to form a group of three business ladies and named it Village 37. Members of this group have known each other for more than four years. Village 37 group is based in Marondera. The other group members are into horticulture businesses. They received a combined group loan from which Enea used her share to buy chicks, medicine and feed to boost her business.
