The Las Pioneras Group communal bank, which belongs to the Agenia Juan Pablo II, consists of eight members who are friends and neighbors in the area. The president of the management board is Mariela.

The loan they are applying for will benefit small business owners, including Mariela. She currently has a food business which she learned about several years ago.

The loan she is seeking is to increase her capital to buy rice, noodles and oil, wholesale, from dealers in the city of La Paz. Afterwards she will make and sell food at her stall. This type of work alllows her to earn an income to support her family economically, as she is single and has a son.

Her goal is to expand the business to improve her quality of life.
