Christine's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more agricultural supplies like watering cans.

Christine's story

Christine is 23 years old and lives in the town of Lukaya in the Masaka region of Uganda. She has one child who is currently in school. For the past 1 year, Christine has been working hard to manage her agrovet shop, which sells agrovet supplies.

To help expand her business, Christine has requested a loan of 800,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more agriculture supplies like watering cans.

This will help Christine to generate greater profits and she will manage to buy food for her family and pay the respective school bills for her kid. Christine hopes that, in the future, she will be able to buy a plot of land and build a family house.

Christine is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities, and a forum for life-skills training.
