A loan helped to purchase additional stock of men's and women's clothes, blankets, and shoes.

Maria's story

Maria is a woman, age 46 years and living in Harare, Zimbabwe. She is a widow and stays with her three children and one grandchild, who is in infant school. Of the three children, one is out of employment, one is in college, and the other one in secondary school. She runs a flea market business where she sells men’s and women’s clothes, blankets, and shoes, a business she has been running for 15 years now.

Maria has requested a loan from Microhub to purchase additional stock of men’s and women’s clothes, blankets, and shoes as she prepares for the festive season, where she anticipates brisk business as workers are paid bonuses during this period.

Income from this business will help her pay for her family rentals accommodations, pay for her children’s and grandchild's fees, and general family upkeep. This is her only source of income to support her family, as she is a widow.
