A loan helped Purchasing additional merchandise.
Maria, age 54, is a woman who has worked hard throughout her life to get ahead. She lives in her own house, and her greatest desire is to have a tranquil future. The stand where she sells clothes is located in the San José market (an important market in the city of Juliaca). Specifically, she sells polo shirts for young people, and she is an excellent salesperson, since she always convinces her customers to buy more than one garment. What she likes most about her work is conversing with the salespeople from neighboring stands. She has been in this line of work for 33 years, and she thinks the most difficult part is having to spend the entire day at her sales stand without being able to go out onto the street. For the future, she hopes to be able to save enough money to open her own clothing store. This is Maria's fifth loan with MFP; she knows that she needs to pay it on time to avoid causing problems for the other members of her communal bank, where she is well-liked. With the 3000 Peruvian nuevos soles she is requesting, she will purchase more polo shirts, since she wants to increase the sales volume of her stand.
