A loan helped to increase her stock of clothing for sale.

Prudence's story

Prudence, 41, is a single mother of six children. She is a businesswoman who deals in the sale of second-hand clothes within Jinja town. This has been her main source of income over the years.

Prudence is grateful to Kiva and its partners for her previous loan, which boosted her business, and she was able to pay school fees for her children. She says that she needs to increase her stock so that she can have good sales in the coming festive season. She plans to diversify her stock to include children's, women's and men's clothing.

She has applied for a loan of 5,000,000 UGX to buy the clothes. Prudence is confident that this will increase her sales, thus improving her children's standard of living. She appreciates the lenders for the economic empowerment.
