but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a large quantity of seeds to continue operating his garden.

Gneta De Kambila Group's story

Boubacar also known as Bemba is a Malian market gardener. He is 42 years old, married with 4 children, aged 15, 13, 9 and 4 respectively, 3 of whom attend school. His wife runs a small vegetable stall every night on the village square, after having attended to her housework. For the past 15 years, Boubacar has been a market gardener, growing okra, eggplants, cucumbers, cabbages etc. In order to improve the garden's productivity, he is borrowing from RMCR a sum of money which will allow him to make technical upgrades (large diameter well, pump motor) and to buy a large quantity of seeds, fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide, etc.

The production cycle runs from 4 to 6 months. At maturity, the goods are harvested and taken directly to the weekly village and surrounding markets. He makes a monthly profit of 150,000 francs CFA, part of which goes to meeting his family's needs, in particular the children's school fees, health care and the improvement of the family's diet. The other part goes to saving money to meet any contingency.

Despite the water problems that Boubacar Bemba encounters (the wells are often dry in the middle of the growing season), he wants to pursue his dream by modernizing his business with appropriate technical upgrades.
