Lieu

Lieu, who appears in the picture, is a 28-year-old woman. She is married and has 2 school-aged children. Even though Lieu is a hardworking mother, she cannot afford to build a new latrine for her home. This badly affects her family’s health. She is applying for a loan from Kiva to cover the cost of the materials for a new latrine. She earns her living by fishing and fish-processing, and she can use the income from these activities to repay the loan. Lieu believes that the latrine will improve her family's life significantly.
