Ireen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more chicks and chick feed.

Ireen's story

Ireen is an 18-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents, two brothers and one sister in the Wedza district in Zimbabwe.

She runs a poultry business, keeping broilers at her home. Ireen is requesting a Kiva loan in order to buy more chicks and chick feed, to boost the breeding capacity of her chicks. She plans to use the profit she earns to help the needy in her community and provide for her family members.

Irene will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a Camfed Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering Camfed’s alumnae organization, CAMA, by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
