Magdaline's Group

Magdaline lives in a community near Ho, in the Volta Region. She is a 42-year-old mother of two.

For the past 10 years, Magdaline has been into the production of palm oil, an activity she learnt when she was in her late twenties. She buys palm fruits from nearby villages and processes them into palm oil. The majority of her customers are market traders who retail the oil in smaller volumes. She also has some schools buying from her.

The main challenge Magdaline faces in her business is the seasonality of the availability of palm fruits for processing.

Magdaline wants a loan to buy palm fruits, which she believes will help increase her revenue. With the additional profits, she wants to pay for her children’s school fees to get them fully educated.
