A loan helped to start her own business selling groceries.

Josephine's story

Josephine is a 21-year-old entrepreneur who is a single mother and lives with her child in the Mbire District in Zimbabwe.

She is requesting a Kiva loan to start her own business selling groceries. Josephine plans to use the profit she earns to support her family. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a Camfed Learner Guide, facilitating classes from Camfed’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
