Tarascos De Patamban Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to reforest pine forests to harvest sap.

Tarascos De Patamban Group's story

These are Ramiro, Eleazar, and Antonio, excited to have the opportunity to care for and make the most of their lands, to contribute to the development of their people and their community.

Ramiro shares that today there is little resin tapping since unfortunately the mountains were affected when Patamban, Michoacán, México suffered from neglect and excessive logging. Currently, Ramiro and his workmates weed, care for, and provide maintenance to their pine trees with the end of assuring the growth of their forest. The work that they do is difficult and requires a lot of dedication and constant care, but unfortunately they do not have the financial resources they need to care for these pines.

For this reason, Kiva is an additional hope to achieve their goals, since getting financial resources will allow them to continue with the care that their orchards require. The commitment and dedication that the trees need so that in 10 years they can begin to harvest the resin is a lot, but they are sure that it will bring multiple benefits, such as greater economic movement in the population and preventing, at the same time, so many young people from deciding to migrate, because they will be able to find work opportunities that they previously did not have.
