A loan helped purchase new equipment, boost my advertising, and gain working capital for my business.
One of the most asked questions I get when I tell people about my baking is where did I learn it, or how did I get started baking. I tell people that my grandma actually got me started in baking. When I was really young I would go visit her and we would bake a cake together. I remember buttering the pan, measuring the milk, washing the dishes haha. That was something that I always looked forward to. I started baking cakes for birthdays, church bake sales, holidays and just because. Then when Cake boss aired, I knew that’s what I wanted to do. I wanted to be my own cake boss.I started bring cupcakes to school and sharing them with students and teachers. I became known as the cupcake guy. People loved my cakes, and that’s when I knew that I was actually good! Since I could remember I knew I wanted to work for myself. When I was in high school I would sell some of my baked goods to students in the hall. That's one of the moments that I knew that I was going to be successful and have my own business. I finally started Breaking Bread Bakery after I went to culinary school. I started the bakery for a few simple reasons, I love baking, I'm good at it and I believe food is powerful and can bring people together, and that’s the mission of my bakery. My goal is to eventually be the BEST and BIGGEST bakery in Florida, and impact as many lives as possible through desserts.
