Ruth's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy different varieties of cereals such as maize, sorghum, rice, wheat, barley, and millet to resell in her local market so she can use the profits to pay tuition fees.

Ruth's story

Ruth is arguably among the most successful clients of Juhudi Kilimo, a microfinance institution that deals only with smallholder farmers in rural parts of Kenya. Ruth is married to a fellow farmer. Ruth had a challenging childhood but she values every minute of it since it prepared her for real life. Her family's main income source is milk from their dairy farm, but they are also involved in other agricultural activities such as growing crops.

She is requesting a loan to buy cereals. She intends to buy different varieties of cereals such as cow peas, lentils, beans, maize, sorghum, rice, wheat, barley, and millet to resell in her local market.

In Ruth's remote village, the cereal business is one of the businesses that generate the most profits, since the demand for cereals is always on the rise. Because of the good relationship she has with her neighbours, Ruth plans to increase her reach through proper marketing in her own village. With this loan, lenders can help this mother achieve her dreams to build a modern house and pay tuition fees for her children, which will surely bring enormous changes in her life. Be inspired to lend to her as she looks forward to making her life better this season.
