Catherine's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase dairy cow feeds, to increase her dairy farming business.

Catherine's story

The biggest challenge that affects smallholder farmers in Kenya is the lack of reliable credit sources. Farmers like Catherine, a witty mom pictured in this photo, have big dreams for their life but are limited by a lack of funds to implement their ideas.

Catherine is a hardworking farmer who comes from a remote village in the Kericho county of Kenya. Thanks to her efforts, she has been able to improve her family's living conditions.

She is requesting a loan in the amount of 44,000 KES from Kiva lenders, to purchase dairy feeds that will help increase her dairy farming business. The dairy feeds will boost milk production on her farm. As a result, she will have more milk for both consumption and sales. With the money from the additional sales, she will be able to pay back her loan on time.
