Fatoumata's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy peanut butter, palm oil, and vegetable oil.

Fatoumata's Group's story

The 'banc villageois' to which this group of eleven members belongs was set up in January 1997. It is composed of women living in the same neighborhood. There are good ties among the group members, who are mainly active in small-scale commerce.

Ms. Fatoumata (standing at the right with a hand raised) is the group's representative. She is 45, married, and the mother of five. Active in selling fresh vegetables, palm oil, and peanut butter, she gets supplies at the weekly market to resell in her neighborhood.

With her new loan, she intends to pay for 3 pails of peanut butter, a 20-liter container of palm oil, and a 20-liter container of vegetable oil, which she will sell retail at her home. With the profits generated from this business, she plans to cover her children’s school fees and to bolster her savings.
