Shannon's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped us to purchase the equipment and materials necessary to expand our handmade product line and to market our brand beyond our current reach by building a website, advertising, and attending craft shows and maker fairs.
My husband had never lost a job in the 30 years we've been married. Five years ago he was laid off. Then he was laid off again 2 years later. After a year's worth of unsuccessful job searching we thought a change might be in order so we relocated to NW Arkansas where he got a job in a different industry. He lost that job 3 months after he started. After losing 3 jobs in 5 years we decided that the path we were pursuing was clearly not the right one. Through this difficult time we lost everything we own. We even share one 16 year old car that we like to say is being held together by duct tape and Jesus. Our retirement dreams had been completely shattered, we knew we would be working for as long as we're physically able. Fortunately we were blessed with an idea for reusing retired vinyl billboard advertisements. What started as a hobby is now our only source of income. It is the glue that has put our retirement dreams back together in a way we never expected. This business is the "retirement" that we didn't know we wanted. We can't imagine not doing this every day. We wake up excited about the new products we get to make, the new ideas we get to brainstorm about, or the opportunity to share what we've learned through this crazy journey! Our business was born out of necessity but it grows out of love: our love for each other, our love for our Lord in heaven who knows us much better than we do, and our love for encouraging others in a similar situation to stay faithful even when it feels like their life is being held together by duct tape and Jesus.
