Martha's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Martha's Group's story

Martha is a 53-year-old, proud mother of two children. She is a group leader, often described as a very friendly person and she is representing her group of 11 farmers in Iringa Two District. Since joining One Acre Fund in 2015, Martha has noticed that she has had more profits from each harvest.

Martha described her harvest as very good last year, but believes she can have a better one this year by continuing to work with One Acre Fund. She is very excited to also be purchasing two solar lights, apart from fertilizer and maize, because she will now be able to have a light at night. With the profits from this season’s harvest, she plans to buy chickens.

With this loan, Martha’s Group will be able to plant a total of 16 acres of land and purchase a total of two solar lights.
