A loan helped to restock different types of clothing material to make school and church uniforms.

Makomborero Group's story

Time is our most precious resource; we should invest it wisely. Vivian is one woman who spends most of her time making a living through her tailoring business. She does this with the help of her husband and they have managed to sustain their three children this way. All their household expenses are covered by the profits they get from doing this business. They have been facing challenges here and there on covering their expenses. That is why Vivian had to borrow from Thrive Microfinance in order to finance her business and be able to increase their profits.

She formed a group with her three friends and named it Makomborero, meaning blessings, and applied for a group loan.

Vivian wants to use her loan to restock different types of clothing material in order to meet the demands she gets from different schools and churches, since she specializes in making uniforms. She has three business machines, one for straightening, the other for overlocking, and the third one for styling the clothes. She spends twelve hours per day on average on her tailoring business, except on Sundays.
