Zvedikita Group's story

The women of Zvedikita group have travelled on their highway of success and they are still striving to improve their families’ living standards. The members really find it interesting working as group and have since introduced a savings club and are reaping the fruits of the association. They are based in a village in Murewa.
Mecrina, 50 years old, is a strongly motivated widow and a good business woman who is also a role model to the other 2 women. She runs a tuckshop in her village where she lives with her granddaughter. She stocks all basics commodities from soap to food.

Mecrina is also one of the best farmers in her village specialising in organic vegetables. This keeps her cash flows and business circle very healthy. To boost her growing business, Mecrina and her friends acquired a loan of in 2017 which went well. Now the trio has taken a new loan and Mecrina will use her portion to boost her stock.
Mecrina’s hope is to ensure a decent life for her family as well as influencing other young unemployed women to work for their families. Members of the Zvedikita group in vernacular meaning “fruits of the sweat” are happy with financial assistance and will hold each other for the repayment of the loan.
