Marie Philomène's Group's story

This group belongs to the Banc Villageois created in June 1998. It is made up of 5 women from the same village and united for a long time in their good social and professional relationships. They have successfully reimbursed several loans.

Colette is the head of the group. She is 73 years old and single with dependent nephews. She is standing on the right of the photo with her hand raised. She is a very dynamic woman and is the President of her Banc Villageois and the President of the National Association of Banc Villageois.

Colette has a pig fattening business while at the same time being active in trading food and sanitary products. She stocks up on rice, oil, sweet drinks and soap etc. to resell from her home. She has a good foundation of 18 years’ experience.

With her new loan she will buy food and sanitary products to stock up her shop and pigs that she will fatten up and sell after 6 months. Her products sell well since there is not much competition.

Her profits will allow her to save in the Banc Villageois and to help her nephews with their schooling.
