Pastor's story

Pastor is a repeat borrower of UGAFODE Microfinance, Ltd. (MDI). He is married with two children, and one child is school going. It is his fifth time to acquire a loan from UGAFODE.

His main business is agriculture, especially tea farming, which is his major source of income for the family. He works for four hours a day and five days a week. However, he also deals in tea and coffee, where he earns extra income for the family. He started his business in 2005.

His business is located in the area of Ryesers, Bitooma, Bushenyi district. He mainly started his business so as to earn income to cater for his family and to educate his children. When he gets the loan, he will use it to buy fertilizers for his plantation. Therefore, he has requested a loan of 3,500,000 (three million five hundred shillings only) to help buy organic fertilizers for his plantation to help increase yields.

His clients are mainly tea processing factories, especially Igara, Kyamuhunga, Swazi, and Global respectively. The client hopes to increase his garden by planting more tea, which will indeed increase his income.

His main challenge is limited capital, but he is honest and hardworking.
