Eliza's Group

Iringa, Iringa Region, Tanzania / Agriculture

Eliza's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Eliza's Group's story

Eliza, pictured above, has been a farmer for more than 20 years and is now proud to represent her group of 16 farmers in Kilolo South District. She is 50 years old, married, and has 3 children.

Eliza likes to think of herself as a very reliable person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2017 and decided to represent her group because she likes being a leader. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Eliza plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

In total, Eliza’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 19 acres of land. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 2 solar lights.
