Dios Nos Ayudara Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy skirts, aprons and traditional blouses known as “huilipes”.

Dios Nos Ayudara Group's story

The communal bank “Dios Nos Ayudara” (God Will Help Us), is formed by 6 women living in a rural village in the state of Quiche. They have successfully completed 5 loan cycles with Kiva and are currently seeking another loan to invest in their small businesses. Between them they run a variety of businesses, including prepared food sales, clothing sales, fruits/vegetables sales, traditional silver jewelry sales and the sale of various products by catalogues. They would love to receive a loan to buy their products in wholesale quantities at lower prices.

Aracely is a member of “Dios Nos Ayudara”. She is 33 years old and is a mother to three children, ages 9-14. Aracely completed high school, specializing in administration. Her children, who she raises alone, are her motivation to run a successful business. Aracely primarily makes her living by buying traditional clothing at wholesale level and reselling it. With an investment from Kiva she will be able to buy skirts, aprons and traditional blouses known as “huilipes”.

The women of “Dios Nos Ayudara” have participated in the program known as “Microcredit Plus”, which is a part of the “Friendship Bridge” initiative. These women have received information about the best ways to invest in their businesses and about how to save their earnings.

They would like to say thank you to all of the lenders at Kiva who have made their investments possible.
