but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a vulnerable Roma family to improve their shelter by changing the roof's tiles of their so-called house so it will be safer and warmer.

Majlinda's story

Majlinda is member of the vulnerable Roma community that lives in a city in central Albania, where most of her community lives. She is married and mother of five, aged 20, 17, 14, 9 and 3 years old. She lives with her husband and her four youngest children, her oldest daughter is married and lives with her children and husband in a nearby city.

Majlinda is 38 years old. She and her husband have more than 20 years of experience selling used clothes to make a living for their family. Majlinda and her husband are hoping for the first time for support from Kiva lenders to be able to provide a safer and more secure shelter for their children. They want to change the tiles of their roof so their so-called shelter will be more insulated from the rain of the upcoming winter season.
