Faith's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy different varieties of cereals from local farmers and sell them to her customers, so that she can get enough money to educate her children.

Faith's story

For a poor mum to take on a farming business, she requires a sufficient amount of passion, and that is what Faith possesses. Faith describes farming as “the best economic activity”.

She has been farming for the last five years. In her village, she practices mixed farming. The income she makes from selling milk and eggs is used to meet the basic needs of her household. Though Faith has gathered much experience in this business, she is not comfortable with the little amount she earns, since she is the only breadwinner in her household.

Faith has decided to focus more of her attention on farming. However, she needs to boost her income by buying different varieties of cereals from local farmers and selling them to her customers and at the local market. She will earn a commission from these sales that she intends to use to repay the loan and improve her standard of living.

This loan is, therefore, an opportunity that Faith never had before. Her irregular income and lack of collateral security were the main drawbacks limiting her from accessing a loan from commercial banks. Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the life of Faith and her family will be changed by this loan.
