Jair Enrique's story
Jair is 40 years old. He is a micro-businessman who opened his country art workshop in the city of Barranquilla in 2010. He is a father and main breadwinner who lives in a humble home with his spouse and their four children aged 5, 4, 3 and 1. He started this activity working in a handicraft workshop where he worked in sales. After a couple of months, his boss proposed that he work in the area of operations. There he learned how to make all types of figurines and decorative items. He decided to start his own workshop, and although he had few resources, he acquired the necessary hand tools (Xacto knife, hammer, and pliers). As time passed, his income increased and he acquired tools and equipment necessary to do his work well. Jair is taking out his first Kiva loan to invest in wood, paint, posters board, glue and nails so that he can serve his customers in different towns on the Caribbean coast and fill their orders. Support him, it will be a success.
