A loan helped to buy beef, pork, bags, labels, and condiments, as well as pay for labor to distribute her products to her customers.

Adela's story

Doña Adela is a single mother who is 65 years old and has four children. She lives with a daughter and two grandchildren in the town of San Pedro Sula, Cortes. Adela works from her home where she sells beef, pork, and other meat products such as pork belly, bacon, marinated pork loin, cooked ham hocks, and other items.

She has had several loans from ODEF and is currently requesting her sixth loan in the amount of 25,000 HNL. Adela will invest part of the loan in buying beef and pork. The rest will be used to buy bags, labels, and condiments, as well as pay for labor to distribute her meat products to different establishments, markets, grocery stores, and her neighbors. Her goal is to establish her business in a shop where she can offer more variety to her customers.
