Marie's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her shop by purchasing more traditional clothes.

Marie's story

Marie is a 58-year-old living with her husband, a farmer in Musanze-Muhoza community. She is the mother of two teenagers whom she managed to put through school. Her greatest concern is the well-being of her family and the improvement in their living conditions. She is working harder to sustain her family needs with her work that she is happy with because it provides income for her family.

She has been selling traditional African loincloths for eight years, and she is having a significant number of customers already. The demand from her clients surpasses her sales due to insufficient products to sell in her inventory. The reason why she does not have sufficient products to sell to her large number of customers is because of her lack of capital.

Therefore, Marie is requesting a loan to have capital to buy more inventory (traditional African loincloths) and raise her sales since she is already having a very high demand from her clients. Additionally, this is her second loan cycle with VisionFund Rwanda, and she is aiming to save profits from the loan and utilize it to improve her family living conditions. Marie is honestly thankful towards Kiva lenders for allowing her the loan.
