Maria Delicia's story
María Delicia B. D. R. is 64. She lives in the La Esperanza district, Trujillo province, La Libertad department, Perú.
She belongs to the Nueva Esperanza Communal Bank. She has a third graD. education. She is from Cajamarca. Because they lacked economic resources, her parents taught her to work in the fields. She is in a common law marriage, and she has five grown and independent children.
She makes women’s and children’s clothes in her home.
With her first loan for 300 PEN she performed maintenance on her machine and bought fabric to make skirts and blouses.
With her next loan for 800 PEN she will buy fabric, needles, and zippers wholesale to make her pending orders.
She dreams of having a food store in her house, and she is saving for it.
