Mariama's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase more rice, onions, Maggi, salt, oil, tomatoes, groundnuts, couscous, spaghetti and other items to sell.

Mariama's story

Meet 34-year-old Mariama from Moriba town branch. She is married with 3 children, aged between 6 and 12 years old, all of whom are currently attending school.

Mariama runs a retail business, selling Maggi [a flavour-enhancing product], onions, tomatoes, oil, groundnuts, rice, seasoning, spaghetti, couscous, etc. to her customers from a nearby table. She has been in this business for the past 5 years and works 8 hours per day and 7 days a week. Her other source of income is from her husband. Mariama says her business is going well and without any challenges.

Mariama requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more rice, onions, Maggi, salt, oil, tomatoes, groundnuts, couscous, spaghetti and other items to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will improve her business and allow her to educate her children.

In the future, she wants to establish a big shop. She says thanks to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
