A loan helped to construct a toilet for her family.

Peou's story

Poeu, 46, is married and lives with her husband and two school-aged children in a village in Kampong Chhnang province of Cambodia. She has been working as a garment factory worker to generate daily income since 2012. Meanwhile, her husband is a construction worker. Poeu and her husband typically make around USD15 per day.

Poeu and her family are living in a house without a toilet, and she wants to build a sanitary latrine for them. Because of a shortage of funds in her budget, she is now applying for a Kiva loan to buy construction supplies such as bricks, cement, iron, stone, timber, and sand to construct a toilet.

Through this loan, she hopes that she can experience living in a comfortable house. She is thankful to all lenders for their financial support toward poor people.
