Diama's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to pay for chicks for her poultry farm.

Diama's Group's story

The 'banc villageois’ in existence since January 2001 houses this group of six energetic women who are from the same neighborhood; they are parents, friends, and neighbors, and they have strong ties of solidarity. Their main work involves commerce and raising livestock.

Ms. Diama, aged 45, is the representative crouching at the right in the photo with a hand raised. She is the married mother of seven children, including two girls; they are still students.

Diama runs a poultry farm; she buys chicks from major suppliers and operates her farm at home. She capitalizes on over two years of good experience. To develop her business, she was able to build up ample savings to obtain a bigger loan.

She envisions purchasing 400 chicks, 200 sacks of fodder (to start, develop, and finalize) and to pay for vaccines. She will sell the chickens after two months. She had no problem selling: she has good customers who always buy from her.

With the profits, she puts some toward savings, meets her needs, and helps to cover family expenses regarding food and clothing for the children.
