Katherine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a young entrepreneur buy more cosmetic products and keep a bigger stock to be able to meet the growing demand.

Katherine's story

I was born in San Jose CA, but my mom took me to Aguascalientes, Mexico when I was 1. I am the eldest of 4, and the only girl. I came back to the US when I was 9, and started elementary school as a 5th grader. That year was hard for me because I didn't speak English. When I started high school I thought that my life was about to change a lot. I took a class about personal finances and job hunting, and I was very excited to apply for a job and have my first credit card. But my dad didn't allow me to do so, so I decided to start my own small business selling earrings, hair accessories, etc, to my class mates while I waited for my senior year to get a real job. However, when I finished high school someone introduced me to the world of cosmetics, and since at the time I only used mascara I was interested in learning more about makeup. This is how I started my cosmetics business, which is doing great so far. What I like the most about having my own business is that I am able to make money and cover my expenses while at the same time going to college. I am a psychology major, so I work hard, and I study hard as well. I hope to graduate and start working as a psychology professional, but I want to keep my business going at the same time and making it grow and be as successful as possible.
