Lukia's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Lukia's Group's story

Pictured is Lukia, who as group leader, is representing her group formed by five farmers from Iringa district, Tanzania. She is mother to nine children and is known by her community as a very hardworking individual.

Initially, Lukia joined One Acre Fund in 2013 because she wanted to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods. Since she joined the program she says that her life has improved, especially because she has been able to consistently feed her family. With the profits from the coming harvesting season, Lukia plans to send her children to school.

Among the five farmers in Lukia's Group, a total of 4.5 acres of land will be planted using the maize seeds and fertilizer received with the loan.
