Emily's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy products in high demand, such as rice and bottled sodas, as well as fishing nets and sealant for her family's fishing business.

Emily's story

Emily thanks Kiva and all of its lenders who supported her on her previous loan. The loan enabled her to buy fresh fish and salt for producing dried fish to sell to her customers who placed bulk orders. In addition, she was able to sell to her neighbors and other residents who purchased in smaller quantities. As a result, Emily was able to gain new customers who now buy from her wholesale. Part of her loan was also used to buy a new videoke machine that she rents out for special occasions. These improvements allowed her to pay back the loan and even set up a small store in her house.

Emily’s store is doing so well that she often has to go to the big market to replenish her inventory. She is now requesting a loan of 30,000 PHP so that she can buy products in high demand, such as rice and bottled sodas, in order to meet her customers’ demands. Part of the loan will also be used to buy a new set of fishing nets and a gallon of sealant to repair her family’s fishing boat.

Emily commits to paying back her loan on time, just as she did with her first Kiva loan.
