A loan helped to buy taro root seedlings, banana tube seedlings, chemicals, a backpack sprayer, and a chainsaw.

Faiupu's story

Faiupu is a 25-year-old single woman with one child. She runs a business of selling taro and bananas in her community in order to earn a living. Faiupu has four years of experience with this business. She works very hard to please her customers by offering them fresh taro and bananas.

Faiupu believes she can earn more income if she plants more bananas and taro. In order to do this, she needs a loan to buy taro root seedlings, banana tube seedlings, chemicals, a backpack sprayer, and a chainsaw in order to run her business. Faiupu delivers her products to the flea market by traveling on a bus. She comes from a family in which no one works to earn a living, so her business is the only source of income to provide for their needs.

Her dream is to see her family one day have a higher standard of living. She became a member of SPBD in 2017 in order to seek financing for her business. Faiupu realizes that the support of the lenders will be a big help to her and family by providing financing for her business.
