Mya's Group's story

The featured borrower Mya, is a 33-year-old farmer who lives in a village in Twantay Township. She has three family members, and her child is studying in middle school. She grows paddy (rice) on fifteen acres of land and has about four years of experience in this industry.

Mya chooses farming business as the way of living, because of her expertise and she is happy to be a farmer. The yield of her farm is over 500 baskets per year. She sells paddy produced on her farm to brokers, after harvesting. She is asking for a loan to buy pesticides, fertilizers and to pay labor hiring cost for her paddy rice farm.

She uses her income for family expenses and saves regularly to reinvest the earnings in her business. She actively participates in the social and religious affairs of her village. She would like to provide more support for her child’s education, for her child to graduate.
