A loan helped to buy certified seeds to start horticulture farming.

Mary's story

Born in a third world country (Kenya), but promising herself to defy the odds and have a good future: that is Mary. She is a happily married woman from the Kerugoya area of Kenya who has always struggled to provide for her family as the sole breadwinner in her household. She will always do anything to prevent them from going to bed with hungry stomachs. Mary has been a farmer for 11 years who practices mixed farming (dairy, animal, and crop farming). She was not lucky enough to be enrolled in an institution of higher learning, but through her knowledge and skills in farming, she has been able to provide meals for her family and take care of them with her profits. Through the years, Mary has gathered much experience and all the farming techniques are at her fingertips.

Mary is requesting a loan to buy seeds to start horticulture farming. She wants to take advantage of conditions such as favorable weather patterns, a good road network in her village, good soil, and a ready market for horticulture products. By the end of the first year, Mary hopes that she will be selling not only in the local market but also in international markets through the export of fruits and vegetables. Help her today for the betterment of her future.
