A loan helped to buy stock at bulk prices for her tuck-shop.

Kumutsa Group's story

Kamurayi is a 38 year old lady who resides in Marondera. She is coming to Thrive Microfinance for the first time to get a loan. She has run a strong tuck-shop and road side stall business for the past 4 years. She restocks once per month using $400. She usually gets sales of $700 per month. She is mother of one. Her husband is the deputy head at a local school. She operates her business everyday. Kamurayi usually spends the whole day in her tuck-shop and usually close around 7pm as a way to maximise her sales.

Kamurayi together with her friends formed a group of five women and named it Kumutsa. These ladies have known each other for the past five years and they have been doing well in their businesses and came to Thrive Microfinance to seek developmental group loans.

They received a combined group loan and training. Other four members are into horticulture and poultry businesses and they are doing very well. They all promised and are committed to invest their loan into their businesses and Kamurayi used her share to buy stock at bulk prices for her tuck-shop.
