Fridah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers to improve her production and make profits to support her household.

Fridah's story

Meet Fridah,(pictured above) a forward-looking woman. With her natural abilities and curiosity, Fridah has been able to make great progress in her life. She is a hardworking woman who lives in the Machakos region of Kenya. Although she has only farmed for the past six years, Fridah is working hard and learning good farming practices.

The biggest constraint to the success of Fridah is the use of poor-quality fertilizers and lack of certified seeds. Fridah is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and high-nutrients fertilizers. This loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family.

Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers in Machakos now can buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.
