Leticia Group's story

Jaimer is 48 years old and has three children. The oldest is 17, the middle is 13, and the youngest is 4 years old. For 18 years Jaimer has worked in agriculture, primarily growing cacao. In the mornings he works in his fields, and in the afternoon he works sawing wood, with an electric saw.

His greatest challenge was improving his land, fighting infestations, and managing to have better production. For that reason he seeks a loan through Kiva in order to continue improving his land by maintaining, weeding and fumigating it, to avoid infestations. This will allow him to obtain better products and sell them, improving his earnings.

Jaimer is considered to be a responsible, dynamic and very collaborative person in his community. His greatest dreams are "to grow in my cacao production and leave a legacy to my children so they can get ahead," says Jaimer.

He is a member of the Leticia group. It is made up of 12 members and led by him.
