A loan helped to buy a cow for resale.

Baramasimbe Group's story

Miriam rears poultry at home. She stays at her farm in Zvimba, Zimbabwe. She is married and her husband works at a local clinic. They have three children and all of them are going to school. She pays $50 in school fees per term for each of the three children.

Miriam started her poultry business one year ago. She doesn't rely on this business alone, but also buys and sells cattle. Through her businesses, she has been able to pay school fees for her children and also cover most of the household expenses. Her chicks and feed are restocked from a local company. In the cattle business, she buys from nearby farms. She sells her products mostly to butcheries in the growth point of Murombedzi and to individual customers. Her poultry business is doing well and she feels there is no need to add more capital. Miriam used her share of the loan to buy a cow for resale.
