Alma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy four-day-old chicks, starter, grower, and finisher for her poultry business.

Alma's story

Alma is a 23-year-old woman who is married with two children. She lives with her family in a rural community outside Honiara, capital of Solomon Island. Alma runs a poultry business farming chickens and selling the meat and eggs at the market to earn a living. She has been in this business for two years.

Alma requested a loan to help her pay for additional day-old chicks to increase her chicken stocks and starter, grower, and finisher to help feed her chickens. She plans to use her profits to meet her family's daily needs and improve her business.

Alma joined SPBD in 2016 to gain access to financial services.
