Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start her own buy and sell grocery business.

Maria's story

Maria is a 21-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband in the Binga district in Zimbabwe. She is requesting a Kiva loan in order to start her own buy and sell grocery business.

Maria plans to use the profit she earns to further her education. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering two and a half hours weekly as a Camfed transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering Camfed’s alumnae organization, CAMA, by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health and financial literacy, as well as by providing career guidance.
