Stellah's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy seeds, start horticulture farming, and use the profits to support her family and improve their standard of living.

Stellah's story

Meet Stellah, a mother with a good ability to balance between parenting and farming. Despite the myriad of challenges she faces in her life such as lack of financing and a poor standard of living, she remains focused and determined to give her children a better living. Stellah will do anything to prevent her children from going to bed with hungry stomachs. Her primary sources of income are poultry, vegetable crops, and animal farming.

Stellah is content with the farming way of life. She is a very enterprising woman and, although she never had formal education or formal employment, she has always worked hard on her farm and has always been able to provide her children and family with a decent meal.

The Kerugoya area has favourable conditions for horticulture farming, and that is why Stellah is seeking a loan to buy seeds and start horticulture farming. Because of the good roads, a good climate, and a good transportation network, she is sure that she will reap maximum profits and be able to increase her business. Accessing funds in Kerugoya is very challenging, but Stellah is relieved knowing there are institutions, such as Kiva, that help enterprising women like her. Stellah thanks you wholeheartedly in advance for the lenders' trust and support.
