Esther's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds so that she can expand her horticulture farming, satisfy the ready market for horticulture products and improve her family's living conditions.

Esther's story

Esther is 34 years old and the proud mother of children she adores and cherishes. She is an active woman who works in agricultural activities with skills that she learned from her parents. Esther keeps cows on her farm and has a small garden where she plants vegetables. She enjoys ploughing her farm and watering her plants. Thanks to her perseverance, her children can have at least one meal in a single day.

Unlike most microfinances in Kenya that have imposed very complicated procedures in funds acquisition, thereby discouraging smallholder farmers, Juhudi Kilimo is working closely with Kiva to make loan acquisition for a smallholder farmer easy and convenient. Through this intervention, movement of funds in the rural communities has increased, thereby alleviating rural poverty.

The Nyamira area, where Esther farms, has favorable conditions for horticulture farming, which is why Esther is seeking a loan to buy seeds so that she can expand her horticulture farming. Due to the good roads, good climate, and a good transportation network, she is sure that she will reap maximum profits and be able to increase her business. Esther is very thankful in advance for your help and contribution. She is looking forward to your warm response.
